Digital Desk: The Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Police has arrested Azad Ali, a youth from Assam, for allegedly orchestrating a cryptocurrency scam that promised investors exceptionally high returns in just 45 minutes.


The fraudulent scheme operated through WhatsApp groups, where victims were first added to a group called "Family of Gods" and subsequently moved to another named "Crypto Binary Options."


Through these foreign-based groups, Azad Ali and his associates persuaded individuals to invest money, leading one young woman to lose Rs 10.57 lakh via multiple UPI transfers.


Following a formal complaint, the police apprehended Ali and are currently investigating the broader cyber fraud network involved in the operation.
