Early in the morning, the 76-year-old chieftain passed away at a private hospital in Coimbatore while receiving medical care.

Digital Desk: Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) MP A Ganeshamoorthy, who attempted suicide a few days prior by consuming pesticide, passed away from cardiac arrest early on Thursday, according to news agency ANI.

Early in the morning, the 76-year-old chieftain passed away at a private hospital in Coimbatore while receiving medical care.

Ganeshamoorthy, an Erode resident and DMK candidate for Lok Sabha in 2019, became ill and puked on March 24. Following that, his family members got him admitted to a private hospital in Erode. 

He was checked out and placed on a ventilator after being admitted to the intensive care unit, according to police, as reported by PTI.

The legislator told his family that he consumed pesticides.

Later, Ganeshamoorthy was taken in an ambulance with two doctors and his family to a private hospital in Coimbatore.
