Digital Desk: Ministry of External Affairs Secretary West Sanjay Verma stated one person is missing and ten Indian people are trapped in remote areas of earthquake-ravaged Turkiye.

"We set up a control room in Turkey's Adana," the MEA said during a briefing on the situation in Turkiye. Ten Indians have been stranded in distant portions of afflicted areas, but they are safe. However, one Indian who was on a business trip has gone missing. We've contacted his family and the Bengaluru-based company where he works." MEA added.

Speaking about 'Operation Dost', MEA remarked, "This is the largest natural calamity to affect Turkiye since 1939. We received an email from the Turkish side requesting aid, and the first SAR flights left for Turkey from Delhi within 12 hours after the meeting.

"Thereafter four such flights (sent to Turkiye) two of them were carrying NDRF teams and two were carrying medical teams. "A single plane carrying medical supplies and equipment was dispatched to Syria," the MEA stated.

"We're following the G20 ethos of 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'. Such humanitarian help is not covered by sanctions. "We have dispatched 6 tonnes of medical aid to Syria," declared the MEA.

DG Atul Karwal stated that the first NDRF team assigned for rescue operations left at 3 a.m. on Tuesday and arrived at 11 a.m. The second team arrived later in the evening. So far, seven vehicles, 101 rescuers, including five female rescuers, and four sniffing dogs have been dispatched to the scene.

According to reports, the death toll from the 7.3-magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria has surpassed 11,000 people.
