On Friday, an explosion in Afghanistan's western province of Herat killed at least 12 people and injured another 25.

Digital Desk: According to a news report, "The death toll from the bomb in Herat city's Sector 12 has grown to 12, with 25 people injured," provincial health officials said, adding that the explosives were planted in a sports field and detonated when young people were playing".


However, at the moment, no one has claimed responsibility for the incident.


Hundreds of attacks have been recorded across Afghanistan since the Taliban took control in August of last year, including some claimed by the Islamic State (IS).


In January, an explosion in the city of Herat killed at least seven people and injured nine more.


Added to the report, A minibus was hit by a bomb detonation in PD12 of Herat province's capital. According to the report, at least four women were among the deceased.
