Digital Desk: Kush Maini of India was named the driver of Invicta Virtuosi Racing for the 2024 FIA Formula 2 season on Monday.

Maini joins the British team for his second season in Formula 2, having debuted with Campos Racing in 2023.

Since 2016, the Alpine Academy driver has competed in eight different categories, including BRDC British F3, where he ended as Vice-Champion in 2020.

Maini has also raced in FIA Formula 3 and acquired experience in the FIA World Endurance Championship outside of single-seaters.

In his inaugural season in F2, the 23-year-old scored 12 points, including a podium finish on the championship's maiden visit to Melbourne.

Kush, who is taught by two-time Formula One World Champion Mika Häkkinen, will be looking for more silverware in his sophomore season as he continues his progress in the lower tier.

The new-look Invicta Virtuosi Racing team will be the first to participate in the next-generation Formula 2 cars, which were presented on August 31 in Monza, Italy, ahead of the 2024 season.

The 2024 FIA Formula 2 Championship begins on February 29 at the Bahrain International Circuit and will take the grid to 14 different circuits, including a first-ever visit to Qatar.
