The students were delighted to meet the legendary player MC Mary Kom.
she graced her presence in the university as the Chief Guest of the event.
The player was greeted by 36 departments of the university. In the initiative of the Post Graduate student union Meeting of Dibrugarh University, the event was held at The University's Saheed Khargeshwar Talukdar playground.
She also said that women should never think of themselves to be weak as they can reach their own goals only with hard work and confidence.
Born in a farmer's family, Mary Kom also commented that she had to struggle a lot during her journey.
Vice President Dr. Lilakant Nath and Student union President Pavan Gogoi hoisted the flag of the University and Student Integration Meeting at the launch ceremony, the welcome speech was presented by Himalaya Barik, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also attended the function and urged the students to work very closely to reach their goal.
