Digital Desk: The Delhi Police Crime Branch sent a large group of its officers to the homes of the founding editors Siddharth Varadarajan, MK Venu, Sidharth Bhatia, deputy editor Jahnavi Sen, and product-cum-business head Mithun Kidambi today in response to a Section 91 notice issued in relation to a FIR lodged against them by BJP leader Amit Malviya.
Reportedly, All five member cooperated and turned over the needed gadgets. Kidambi's seizure started at 2:30 a.m. and continued until 5 a.m. We also recorded our demand for the hash value of the confiscated phones, PCs, and iPads, as well as for cloned copies of the seized devices to be held in a neutral location. A hash value is a one-of-a-kind numerical number that is used to ensure the integrity of a device and its contents.

The Wire stated that despite this cooperation, The Wire's office in Delhi's Bhagat Singh Market was searched, and one of our attorneys was forcibly shoved out by cops there. The Crime Branch party then removed the hard discs from the two computers used by our accounts staff, again without mentioning any hash value or providing us with a cloned copy so that the normal financial work that is essential to the day-to-day operation of a media organisation could continue uninterrupted.
