The Cabinet made a significant move by approving the proposal to classify a number of tribal communities as Scheduled Tribes (ST) in the states of Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Himachal, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Arjun Munda, a Union Minister, provided this information.

Digital Desk: The Union Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, resulted in the adoption of many significant decisions. The Cabinet made a significant move by approving the proposal to classify a number of tribal communities as Scheduled Tribes (ST) in the states of Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Himachal, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Arjun Munda, a Union Minister, provided this information.

"12 groups in Chhattisgarh, one in Karnataka, one in Himachal Pradesh, one in Tamil Nadu, and 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh have been removed from Scheduled Castes and incorporated in Scheduled Tribes," according to Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda. Dhuria, Nayak, Ojha, Pathari, and Rajgond are the five subcastes that have been included in the Scheduled Tribes.
