Digital Desk: A theft incident  has once again rocked Guwahati city. The incident occurred at By-lane 3 of Bikrampur Path in Japorigog, where thieves broke into a rented house belonging to a man named Hitesh Kalita.


The burglars broke the main door and entered the house when  the tenant away, taking advantage of his absence as he had gone to watch the Raas festival. They then smashed open the almirah locker and made away with gold ornaments and cash worth several lakhs.


As per reports, the stolen items included gold jewellery and money that Kalita had saved for his upcoming wedding in December. The entire act of burglary was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the residence. Dispur Police arrived at the scene soon after and have launched an investigation into the incident. The shocking theft has created a wave of concern among residents of the area.
