  • A late-night accident on National Highway 37 near Demow's Dehajan left three individuals with severe injuries after an e-rickshaw collided with a parked truck

Three persons were critically injured following a road accident that occurred on Friday night in Demow's Dehajan area, situated along National Highway 37. The incident involved a speeding e-rickshaw that reportedly struck a stationary truck from behind, leaving its occupants with serious wounds.

According to initial information, the e-rickshaw was traveling from the Dibrugarh side when the collision took place. The injured individuals have been identified as Maina Pandav, Citu Pandav, and Biswajit Karmakar. All three, who were passengers in the e-rickshaw, were immediately rushed to the Demow Model Hospital for urgent medical attention due to the severity of their injuries.

Reports from the scene indicate that the driver and handyman of the parked truck fled the site shortly after the accident. Local authorities are expected to initiate an investigation into the circumstances leading to the mishap, including the reasons for the truck being parked on the highway and the e-rickshaw's speed.
