Tipra Motha party chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma had sought a constitutional answer to his party's demands for a separate Tiprasa state...

Digital Desk: During a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah, Tipra Motha party head Pradyot Kishore Debbarma stated that the home minister has begun the process of developing a 'constitutional solution for Tripura's indigenous people.

On Wednesday, a delegation led by Debbarma met Shah at the state guest house in Agartala. "The Home Minister has begun the process of developing a constitutional solution for Tripura's indigenous people.
A speaker will be selected for this procedure within a defined time frame "He stated this in a tweet.

He went on to say, "I appreciate the Home Minister's grasp of the true issues confronting the Son of the land. We successfully rehabilitated our Bru people in our state after 23 years by signing the Bru accord, and today we have begun a massive conversation to assure our life and existence."

JP Nadda, the president of the BJP, and Tripura's recently sworn-in chief minister, Manik Saha, both attended the meeting. Debbarma, a descendant of Tripura's old ruling family, had long sought a constitutional answer to his party's aspirations for a breakaway state of Tiprasa.

The Tipra Motha recently gained 13 seats in Tripura's 60-member state assembly. He is expected to lead a six-member delegation to the negotiations.

While the BJP has stated that it is unwilling to accept a separation of the tiny state of Tripura, its leadership has stated that it is willing to give the Tripura Tribal autonomous council more legislative, budgetary, and executive responsibilities.
