Tokyo: Indian Athlete Lovlina Borgohain made her way into the semi-finals after defeating Chinese boxer Nien-Chin Chen, creating a historic win for India.
Post win, she had mentioned in her address to the virtual press conference, " I have lost four times against my opponent earlier. I wanted to prove myself and have played with my instincts without following any set strategy. I wanted to take revenge for losing four times against Nien-Chin Chen. I am feeling very happy, I played with my potential."
She added that every boxer is different, and no two boxers can have similar strategies. She said that she follows Muhammad Ali's footwork and follows his long punch. she sees videos of Ali before going for her bouts, which encourages her to play with confidence.
Praising Mary Kom, she said that she heard Mary Kom since she entered the world of boxing. She has acquired a lot from Marry Kom and her inspirational work and dedication.
