Tokyo: After the first medal of India, won by Mirabai on the opening day of the Tokyo Olympics, hope for the second medal continues to grow. World Champion P V Sindhu has defeated Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt by 21-15 and 21-13 and has entered the women’s singles quarterfinals with a straight-game triumph.

Rio Olympics silver medalist PV Sindhu is hopeful of bringing a medal for the country as she advances to the next level. She notched up Mia and entered the quarterfinals with ease. Sindhu will be next facing Akane Yamaguchi of Japan and Kim Gaeun of Korea.
