Tokyo: Boxer Mary Kom’s heart breaking exit from Tokyo Olympics after losing to Columbia’s Ingrit Valencia, is seeking explanation about why she was asked to change her ring dress one minute before her quarterfinal bout.
It was a tight bout between two mothers and the split results went into the favour of Valencia.
“Surprising..can anyone explain what will be a ring dress. I was asked to change my ring dress just a minute before my pre qtr bout can anyone explain,” Mary wrote on Twitter.
Mary could be seen smiling and raising her hands after the judges’ decision was announced. It was only she found tweets by former sports minister Kiren Rijiju that she realized she had lost.
