Tokyo: P.V Sindhu on Sunday wins the Women’s Badminton Singles group J match against Israel’s Ksenia Polikarpova at the Musashino Forest Plaza Court 2.

The 26 year-old Indian Badminton player defeated the 58th ranked Polikarpova 21-7, 21-10 in the opening match, the entire match lasted for just 28 minutes.

Sindhu, the world number seven Indian will next play against Hong Kong’s world number 34 Cheung Ngan Yi in the group stage.

On July 14, men’s double pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy had won their opening Group Stage match at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. The Indian duo defeated Lee Yang and Wang Chi-Lin 21-16, 16-21, 27-25 in the group A game at Musashino Forest Plaza Court 3.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Indian Shuttler Sai Praneeth lost his group stage match against Israel’s Misha Zilberman.
