Digital Desk: A tragic incident has been reported from West Nannattari in Tihu town, where 10-year-old Rajarshi Majumdar lost his life due to electrocution on Wednesday.

The young boy, the only child of local resident Dhanjit Majumdar, was a Class 5 student at Tihu Adarsha Lower Primary School.

Rajarshi was at home during the incident as the schools were closed due to the ongoing elections in the state.

While playing inside their house, he accidentally came into contact with a live electrical wire.

The incident occurred in the presence of his grandmother, who courageously attempted to rescue him but sustained an electric shock herself in the process.

Local residents quickly rushed to the spot, disconnected the power supply, and transported the child to Tihu hospital.

However, the doctors declared the young child dead upon arrival.

The grieving family, who runs a small tea stall at Tihu New Chowk to make ends meet, has been plunged into deep sorrow by this tragic loss.
