The incident claimed the life of a young dancer and left several other performers in critical condition.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Nishamoni Haloi, the daughter of Ramen Haloi from Nijjhar village in Goreswar.

A talented and culturally active young woman, Nishamoni was well-known for her Bihu dance performances and her skill as a reciter of Nagara Naam. She tragically died on the spot.
