Digital Desk: Tripura's Chief Minister Manik Saha, unveiled plans on Monday for the establishment of Ayurvedic and Homeopathy Medical colleges in the state, aiming to bolster healthcare facilities. 

While speaking to reporters, Saha who also serves as the Health Minister, emphasized the need to meet the high expectations associated with the State Ayurvedic Hospital.

During his visit to inaugurate a new building for the hospital, Saha highlighted the significance of upgrading the existing infrastructure. He underscored the steady influx of patients, both inpatients and outpatients, necessitating comprehensive improvements. Saha revealed the government's intention to repurpose the old building, with discussions underway regarding its future utilization.

In a proactive step, the Health Secretary has forwarded a letter to the Centre outlining plans for the establishment of an Ayurvedic Medical College in the new facility. Saha articulated plans to subsequently initiate a Homeopathy Medical College, indicating a progressive approach towards holistic healthcare education.

Acknowledging existing challenges, Saha emphasized the government's commitment to expedite resolutions, ensuring timely progress. As efforts to enhance infrastructure gain momentum, Tripura anticipates significant strides in the realm of alternative medicine, aligning with broader healthcare objectives.
