Bengaluru: The driver of a container truck was charred to death after the vehicle he was driving collided with a private bus on the Mangalore-Bengaluru highway.

According to the police, the accident took place near Kaukrady, in Nellyadi at around 11:30 pm.

The private bus was plying from Kundapur to Bengaluru when it was hit by the truck, and within no time the two vehicles caught fire and both were completely gutted.

It is yet to be ascertained how many passengers were inside the bus, who escaped with minor injuries. The identity of the truck driver is yet to be identified.
