Digital Desk: Two minor boys from Hmunpui village, Mamit district of Mizoram survived a bear encounter on January 25, 2025. The boys were attacked by a female bear with a cub on Saturday afternoon. The boys sustained severe injuries after the attack and were rushed immediately to Aizawl Civil Hospital.


The injured were identified as 12-year-old Vanlalpianruala and 13-year-old Deny Zothanpuia. The attack occurred when the boys were in search of vegetables in a forest that was nearly 8 kilometers away from their village.


The attack was so severe and fierce that both the boys suffered head injuries. According to reports, one of the boys has been experiencing heavy bleeding from an eye, which might damage his eyesight.
  
The injured boys are currently undergoing treatment in a civil hospital in Aizawl. The horrifying event has raised concern among the residents of the village.
