A single People's Liberation Army Air Force Shenyang J-16 fighter jet flew into the southwest corner of Taiwan's ADIZ.

Digital Desk: Marking 12th-time Chinese military aircraft have flown into Taiwan's air defense identification zone (ADIZ) this month. According to Taiwan News, quoting the Ministry of National Defense (MND), a single People's Liberation Army Air Force Shenyang J-16 fighter jet flew into the southwest corner of Taiwan's ADIZ. Taiwan responded by dispatching planes, issuing radio warnings, and deploying air defense missile systems to watch the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). According to Taiwan News reports, air defense identification zone is an area that extends beyond a country's airspace where air traffic controllers ask approaching aircraft to identify themselves. It also stated that 38 Chinese military aircraft, including 26 fighter jets, nine spotter planes, and three helicopters, have been spotted in Taiwan's identification zone this month. Although the two sides have been ruling separately for more than seven decades, Beijing claims full sovereignty over Taiwan, a democracy with almost 24 million inhabitants located off the southern coast of mainland China. On the other hand, Taipei has countered the Chinese invasion by fortifying strategic ties with democracies like the United States, which Beijing has actively opposed. China has warned that "Taiwanese independence" will result in war. Also Read: Japan PM Fumio Kishida arrives today, may discuss Ukraine with Modi
