Digital Desk: Two Assamese ladies were chosen for the first round of auditions for the popular cooking reality show MasterChef India Season 8 conducted recently in Guwahati.


Food blogger Kabyashree Deka and entrepreneur Avantika Haflongbar have passed two rounds of auditions and are now preparing to give their all in the next phase, which will be held in Kolkata.


Kabyashree, from Guwahati, and Avantika, from Haflong, both confirmed their selections via Instagram Stories.


"As most of you are aware, I attended the Masterchef Audition in Guwahati and passed the two rounds. I've been chosen for the Kolkata Round of Auditions and will be attending. Just keep me in your prayers," Kabyashree wrote.

Avantika, who was also chosen for the MasterChef India Season 8 auditions in Kolkata, asked her followers whether she could find a house with an attached kitchen.


Avantika and Kabyashree have a strong Instagram following. While the former has over 117K followers (@roohi_haflongbar), the latter has over 155K followers (@foodieforeverandever23).


Kabyashree is an Assamese cuisine influencer, while Avantika owns a clothes business called Roohi Clothes as well as a cloud restaurant called Haflong Cloud restaurant.


The selection of these two Assamese ladies comes barely months after Tinsukia native Nayanjyoti Saikia was crowned MasterChef India Season 7 winner.
