These photos were taken by Ingenuity, the robotic helicopter that accompanied Perseverance's robotic rover after its year-long stay on Mars.

Digital Desk: NASA seized the opportunity to capture a mind-blowing image of Mars!

It shows a UFO-like object that is lying on Mars' surface. Is it a Martian car? Is it an intergalactic transport pod? What exactly is it? A bunch of questions must be hovering around your mind.

First, it must be admitted that it would have been cool if it were a UFO or alien piece of hardware. The object in the photo is not of alien origin; it belongs to human origin.

NASA has a fragment of a damaged spaceship. The 'backshell,' as shown in the image, was separate from the Perseverance rover of the European Space Agency in February 2021.

On the other hand, "exude otherworldly" feelings, as NASA engineer Ian Clark described it.

After spending a year on Mars, the Perseverance rover's robotic helicopter friend, Ingenuity, took these photos.

Ingenuity took 10 images during its 26th trip last week, and here are a few of them.

Perseverance and Ingenuity's fall to Mars were facilitated by the backshell and parachute, as seen in the photos.

According to the New York Times, the remains of this backshell might be important for NASA's next voyage to Mars, named Mars Sample Return.

Two landers will be deployed on the planet's surface, together with a rover will collect space rock (rock samples drilled Perseverance) and a rocket that will send these samples into orbit for return to Earth.
