Guwahati: The banned outfit United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I), as a sign of protest against 75th Independence Day, hoisted their organizational flag at various parts of the Assam report.


A Facebook post under the name of ULFAI wrote, “ULFA flags at various places in Assam against the so-called Independence Day.”


Reportedly, the ULFA-I hoisted its flags in places including Khowang Higher Secondary School, Kailashpur Higher Secondary school, Hindi High School in Sadiya as well as in Kokrajhar, Sivasagar, and Nagaon.


Yesterday, in a statement, ULFA-I said, “Due to covid pandemic ULFA-I has decided to extend its unilateral ceasefire for three months. During the period ULFA-I will not take arm.”


Moreover, in another statement, ULFA-I clears that this year’s Independence Day, there will be no bandh called by the organization.”
