New Delhi: Indian Railways' plan to run ultra-modern Vande Bharat express train's received a boost on Tuesday when it was announced in the union budget 2022 that 400 new Vande Bharat express trains would be introduced in the next three years.
Finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman, who is delivering her fourth annual union budget in Parliament, stated that the country would have 400 new Vande Bharat express train 's in the next three years to improve rail connectivity in various regions of the nation.
She also stated that, in addition to delivering passenger-friendly services, world-class technology would be implemented in the railway.
Currently, two Vande Bharat express trains run between New Delhi and Varanasi and Delhi and Katra in Jammu and Kashmir.
After producing its specially built coaches at ICF in Chennai, the first prototype of the Vande Bharat express train was ready in 2018. According to sources, work on bringing out extra pairs of Vande Bharat express trains is underway to meet the deadline.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously announced that 300 Vande Bharat express trains would travel between 75 locations. However, later the union government, led by PM Modi, has increased the number of Vande Bharat express trains from 300 to 400.
