Digital Desk: On Tuesday, the Union health ministry has identified six states under the tag 'states of concern.' These states include Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The Health ministry has lately stated that these states have witnessed a high rate of Covid-19 positive cases. Due to these high rates of positive cases, these states are fixed under concern. Moreover, the ministry has stated that they have sent health expert teams to these states. The teams are working on continuously reviewing the Covid-19 situation. The Centre has shared some significant points during a press meet on Thursday. The key points include identifying the six states as 'states of concern.'  Also Read: Assam likely to hand over some portions of disputed areas to Meghalaya  Additionally, the Centre stated that vaccines save people's lives from the deadly virus. The death rate has considerably reduced in recent times due to the intake of vaccinations. The third wave of the Covid-19 has currently witnessed mild infections. However, Asia has shown a sharp spike from 7.9% to 18.4 % in the last four weeks. India has witnessed a surge of Covid-19 cases in the last few weeks. The proportion of fully vaccinated people is 72%. On 20 January 2022, there are 3,17,532 new cases, including 380 casualties and 19,24,051 active cases. As per health ministry data, approximately 52% of the children aged 15-18 are vaccinated. Therefore, the number of Covid-19 cases is much lower in the third wave than in the second wave of the pandemic. Moreover, the ministry added, "94% of India's adults have been administered 1st dose of Covid-19. Including, 72% of the individuals are fully vaccinated."
