The two Muslim men have demonstrated to us how respectfully we should treat one another's faiths.

Digital Desk: Two Muslim men from the Kheral panchayat in the Reasi district have donated four kanals of their land to help build a road that will go to a 500-year-old Hindu temple, demonstrating their support for interfaith harmony.

This development has occurred during a period of increased religious polarization in society.

Commissioner Vishesh Pal Mahajan of the Reasi district stated, "This is how society should be living and leading in total harmony." The administration would supply the money to guarantee that a road leading to the temple be constructed, and I have asked for the details.

Four kanals of land have been provided by Ghulam Rasool and Ghulam Mohammad of the Kheral panchayat for the construction of the road. The land will probably cost more than Rs 1 crore.

"A road measuring 1200 meters and having a width of 10 feet will be built for the Gupt Kashi-Gouri Shankar temple located in Kansi Patta village, following the completion of all necessary formalities and record keeping," a revenue official stated.

Ghulam Rasool, a former panchayat member, claimed that certain people tried to create disharmony by drawing attention to the road problem.

"We believed that there was no road leading to the temple, and if we donated our land, a road could be built, benefiting the pilgrims," Rasool remarked.

Following that, Rasool and Mohammad informed the revenue officials of their choice, and a meeting was held whereby they both decided to donate their land for the desperately needed road.

The civil society has highly praised the two Muslim men's gesture

The two Muslim men have demonstrated to us how respectfully we should treat one another's faiths. They have demonstrated humanity," remarked Vishal Sharma, a resident of Katra, a sacred town.
