bfc2 Digital Desk: Taking a step beyond the Uttar Pradesh government's claim of being well prepared for the March 10 vote count, the Kanpur Police have issued an order to shoot at sight anyone found interfering with the counting process. Jitendra Pratap Singh, the District Magistrate of Kanpur Dehat, spoke to the media on Tuesday about the preparations for the vote counting. Superintendent of Police Swapnil Mamgai, who was also present at the news briefing, stated that individuals seen spreading rumours and attempting to disrupt the process at the counting centres would face shoot at sight orders. According to police department statistics, 1339 FIRs were recorded across the state after the code of conduct went into effect on January 9, with the Lucknow zone having the highest number of 261 FIRs. In addition, the majority of the cash has been confiscated in Kanpur. The counting of ballots will begin at 8 a.m., and the first trends are likely to emerge within the first hour. Votes cast on the ballot paper will be counted first, followed by votes cast on electronic voting machines. Mamgai elaborated on the security setup, saying that a three-tier security cover was being set up to ensure a fair counting procedure. Around 1500 police officers, two CISF companies, two CRPF companies, and one PAC company have been deployed throughout the district.
