Digital Desk: Ahead of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched the Congress’ manifesto for the state’s youth, arguing that only the party can provide the youth of the state a new vision.
Addressing a press conference, Rahul Gandhi said that the ‘youth manifesto’ called ‘Bharti Vidhan’ was developed after discussing with the youngsters whose perspectives are reflected in it.
“The young of Uttar Pradesh requires a fresh vision, and only Congress can provide that vision to the state.” Rahul Gandhi said.
“We don’t preach hatred; we unify people. We want to build a new Uttar Pradesh with the strength of the youth.” He added.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra stated that the state’s largest challenge is recruitment and that the youth are unsatisfied by the present BJP ruled government.
She stated that her party in Uttar Pradesh wants the focus to be on development rather than the current negative propaganda based on caste or communalism.
Notably, this time for the UP election, Congress is campaigning in the state focusing on youth and women and has promised that 40% of tickets will be reserved for women.
The election for the 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly will be held in seven phases from February 10 to March 7, with the results being announced on March 10.
