In an interview with Dirty magazine, the actress stated that her father emotionally and physically assaulted her siblings and mother and that she had attempted suicide several times.
Stating that she apparently grew up in a strict and traditional family in Lucknow, the actress said, "Dad used to beat us a lot, used to abuse my mother too. Also, there was constant verbal harassment. It f****s you up when someone calls you a r**** every day. I attempted suicide also a couple of times."
According to the actress, she barely left the house since her father would not allow it, but she would spend a lot of time watching TV.
Urfi also revealed in the same interview that she had been stressed about money all her life. She claimed she grew up with no money and added that instead of chasing a man, women should chase money.
However, Urfi, who is known for her unusual fashion choices, recently drew everyone's attention by describing an unfortunate incident that occurred to her in Delhi. She stated on Twitter that a Delhi cab driver had abused her and run away with her luggage.
The actress was also spotted outside a restaurant in Mumbai, wearing a glittery purple bralette with the word 'Dirty' printed on it. Both admirers and paparazzi were surprised by her unusual makeup. The actress seemed sans eyebrows in pics and clips.
