Garcetti conveyed a nearly-four-minute video on X to remember his journey in India in the last 12 months and noted, “What a ride it's been -- a whirlwind of diplomacy and deepening friendships!”
In a nearly four-minute video shared on social media, Garcetti reminisced about his experiences over the past year, expressing gratitude for the warmth of the people and the shared dreams that have captivated him. From immersing himself in vibrant cultures to reinforcing the ties between the two nations, every moment, he said, has been remarkable.
During his tenure, Garcetti emphasised the significance of the US-India partnership, employing Hindi phrases and words to connect with the local audience. He highlighted the productivity of 2023, describing it as perhaps the most fruitful year in the bilateral relationship's 76-year history, marked by numerous agreements and accomplishments.
Traversing more than 22 states and Union territories, Garcetti explored diverse landscapes, from the border at Wagah to the southern tip at Kanyakumari, and from the bustling metropolis of Mumbai to the serene hills of Kohima. He underscored the expansion of the US-India relationship across various domains, from the ocean's depths to the vast expanse of space.
Garcetti celebrated the significant progress made in the NISAR project, a joint endeavour between NASA and ISRO, slated for launch later in the year. This collaboration represents a milestone in space exploration and underscores the depth of the partnership between the two countries.
