Digital Desk: A CCTV footage has emerged depicting the gruesome murder of the dera chief of the Nanakmatta Sahib Gurdwara in Uttarakhand, who was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants on the shrine's premises early Thursday.

A CCTV clip published by PTI showed the Dera chief seated on a chair on the premises at about 6:30 a.m. when two bike-borne assassins approached and opened fire on him.

Baba Tarsem Singh was rushed to a hospital in Khatima where he died during treatment, Udham Singh Nagar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manju Nath told reporters.

"We have clear (CCTV camera) videos of the assailants. They are both Sikhs," he said and added that they fled after the incident, the NDTV reports.

According to CCTV footage, the assailants entered the gurdwara on a motorcycle at about 6:15 a.m. and shot Singh with a rifle, Nath said, adding that the shooter was riding a pillion.
