Digital Desk: On Saturday night, veteran actor Chalapathi Rao died. According to family members, he died on Sunday at the age of 78. 

According to industry estimates, he appeared in over 600 films as a variety of characters. 

Ravi Babu, his son, is also a Tollywood actor, director, and producer. 

"It's quite terrible that so many of our people are leaving," producer D Suresh, who visited the mourning family, said.

Rao appeared as a supporting actor and villain in films directed by NT Rama Rao, Krishna, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, and Venkatesh. 

In a statement, actor and Jana Sena party chief Pawan Kalyan expressed his condolences on Chalapathi Rao's death. 

Some of his famous films include Yamagola, Yugapurushudu, Justice Chaudhary, Bobbili Puli, Ninne Pelladata, and Allari.
