Digital Desk: Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh takes over as Vice Chief of Naval Staff on Saturday.

On his first day in command, Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh paid tribute to the bravehearts at the National War Memorial and reviewed the Guard of Honour at South Block in New Delhi.

Notably, Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh graduated from the National Defence College in Pune and was commissioned in the executive branch of the Indian Navy in 1986. 

In his 37-year career, he has served on most classes of Indian Navy ships and held a variety of command, training, and staff positions, including Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (CSNCO), flag officer sea training, flag officer Commanding Western Fleet, Commandant Naval War College, and Controller Personnel Services. Before becoming Vice Chief of Naval Staff, he served as Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Operations). 

Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh's Education: 

He has an MSc and MPhil in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University, an MA in Defence Studies from Kings College in London, and an MA (History), MPhil (Pol) and PhD (Arts) from Bombay University.

The flag officer received the Nao Sena Medal in 2009 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2020 in appreciation of his excellent service.
