At Dibrugarh University, he will be joined by Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister of State Rameswar Teli, and Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu.

Digital Desk: On Wednesday (May 3, 2023), India's Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar, will arrive in the Northeast for a day-long visit to Assam and Manipur.

During his visit to Assam, the Vice President will serve as Chief Guest at the Dibrugarh University's 21st Convocation Ceremony. He will give the convocation speech there.

According to the Vice President's itinerary, he will first arrive in Assam before travelling to Dibrugarh University for the Convocation. At Dibrugarh University, he will be joined by Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister of State Rameswar Teli, and Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu.

According to an official statement, "the Vice President will be visiting Dibrugarh, Assam, in the forenoon." He will be the Chief Guest at Dibrugarh University's 21st Convocation Ceremony and will deliver the convocation address."

"Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Rameswar Teli, Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Labour & Employment, and Dr.Ranoj Pegu, Minister of Education, Government of Assam will also grace the occasion," the statement continued.

The Vice President will then travel to Manipur to visit Dhanamanjuri University in Imphal. He is slated to participate in an interactive session with university students and teachers.

"In the afternoon, the Vice President will visit Dhanamanjuri University in Imphal, Manipur," according to the official announcement. He will participate in an engagement programme with university students and professors. This workshop will allow for valuable debates and the exchange of ideas among young minds."

During his journey, Vice President Dhankhar will also pay a visit to Manipur University, according to the statement. "In the final leg of the tour, Shri Dhankhar will visit Manipur University in Imphal, where he will participate in an Interaction Programme with Faculties/Scientists from various Central Institutions across the country," the statement said.

"Both events will be attended by Ms. Anusuiya Uikey, Governor of Manipur, Shri N. Biren Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur, and Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education." "Shri Th. Basanta Singh, Education Minister, Government of Manipur, will also attend the event at Dhanamanjuri University," it added.
