Guwahati: Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu arrived in Guwahati on Sunday for his three-day visit to Assam and Meghalaya.

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma received Naidu at Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.

Reportedly, during his three-day visit, he will take part in various programs in both states.

Post arrival, the Vice president inaugurated the Heritage and Cultural Centre here in the presence of the Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Minister Ashok Singhal.

Further, the Vice President will inaugurate the PET MRI machine at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.

Later, at around 4.55 pm, the Vice President will attend the 'Gopinath Bordoloi Award' ceremony at Srimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra.

According to the report, the Vice President will visit Shillong on Monday.
