Bangkok: Locals of Monywa, Myanmar, have accused the military of killing 13 people from a village in central Myanmar, 11 of whose burned bodies were discovered on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, netizens outraged social media platforms over pictures and reports of the alleged killing and burning of 11 villagers arrested by government armies in the country's northwest.

However, the government has not remarked on the allegations. If consented, they would be the latest atrocity in an increasingly painful fight following the military's takeover of power in February and removal of the elected government of Aung San Suu Kyi.

The tragic incident occurred near the city of Monywa after local militias fighting military rule took out at least two bomb attacks on a military convoy. Locals have stated that soldiers then vacuumed through nearby villages, rounding up and killing six men and five teenagers. The military committee is yet to comment on the incident.

The eyewitness who spoke to the media stated that roughly 50 troops paraded into Done Taw village at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday, seizing anyone who did not manage to escape. "They arrested 11 innocent villagers," said the eyewitness.

Several protests have staged out in Myanmar after the military seized control of the South East Asian country in February. Since then, the military has engaged in a brutal movement of repression, killing at least 1,303 people in the rallies and charging more than 10,600.
