The announcement comes after the farmers started returning to their home states after ending the year-long agitation at the various borders of the national capital.

However, the Kisan Union will remain intact and the agitation would continue on the farmer’s issues, said Tikait.

Earlier, Tikait, while addressing the media, said that the Mahapanchayat would be held from time to time to discuss the farmers’ issues.

“Every year, a 10-day Kisan Andolan Mela will be held. In addition, Mahapancyhayat will be held from time to time to discuss farmer’s issues.” he said.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha announced to end their year-long protest after receiving a letter from the Central government, promising to form a committee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) and to withdraw all the cases against them immediately.

Notably, the farmers had protested against the three contentious farm laws at the various borders of Delhi since November 26, 2020.
