Digital Desk: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested on Tuesday on charges of corruption. A real estate developer allegedly offered Khan and his wife land worth millions of dollars through a charitable trust as payment for their cooperation. Aides to Khan and Khan have denied any wrongdoing. The developer has denied the charges in the past but he could not be contacted on Wednesday and his company’s marketing manager did not respond to a request for fresh comment.
The trust and the land acquisition are the subject of the following information.

Bushra Watto, Khan's third wife, and Khan established the non-governmental Al-Qadir Trust while he was still in office in 2018. At official gatherings, Khan promoted trust while serving as prime minister.
According to Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, the couple is the only trustee.
