Islamabad: In an utterly alarming development in the Twitter world, #TalibanOurGuardians is trending for all the bad reasons. After supporting, sponsoring and giving sanctuary to the Taliban and using them as proxies for decades, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, in an interview with Tolo News, said Islamabad wants Afghanistan to be “peaceful and stable”.

On Friday, Pakistan made #TalibanOurGuardians the top trending hashtag in the country, indicating massive support the Islamic fundamentalist terror outfit enjoys in the country from the political and military establishment and the common people.

Former Pakistan ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani was shocked and alarmed at the development and even reiterated that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi are lying when they say Islamabad does not want a Taliban victory in Afghanistan.
