Digital Desk: "We'll see," Rahul Gandhi said in response to Sharad Yadav's suggestion that he run for Congress president again. Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress president, resigned from his position as party president in 2019.

The comment is significant since Congress is in the process of electing a new president in the aftermath of the resignation. He submitted a letter urging the Congress to elect a new president, but the Congress Working Committee opted to install his mother, Sonia Gandhi, as temporary President. Rahul Gandhi did not say no to Sharad Yadav's suggestion, and party sources believe Rahul is considering running for President of the party again.

During the recent Uttar Pradesh elections, the Congress attempted to project Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Her "Ladki Hun Lad Sakti Hun" campaign attempted to corner Yogi Adityanath on the issue of women's and minorities' safety. Though she was viewed as a crowd pleaser in many locations, she was unable to alter the party's fortunes in terms of seat count. Only two seats were gained by the party.

G-23, a dissident organisation, had hoisted a flag against the leadership, and multiple rounds of meetings had already taken place. The group stated that they are not questioning leadership but rather seeking improvements.

So, will the party re-elect Rahul Gandhi as President? Will the role be filled by a newcomer this time?
