The woman resided with her husband in Guwahati's Jyotikuchi locality, where she was allegedly subjected to prolonged harassment and physical abuse, as per the family's accusations.
Due to the severity of the abuse, the woman suffered serious injuries and was admitted to Tezpur Medical College and Hospital, where she eventually passed away during treatment.
Following her death, the woman's relatives from Udalguri filed a complaint against her husband with the local police.
The deceased, identified as Sujata Das, and her husband, Manas Pratim Das, have been named in the case, prompting police to launch an investigation.
