Digital Desk: A young woman attempted suicide after being deceived in love in Gumora, Cachar. Mallika Vaishnav, a resident of Mougram in Cachar, took this drastic step after reportedly being betrayed by her lover, Sanjeev Vaishnav.
Allegations suggest that Mallika and Sanjeev had been in a relationship for nearly three years, during which Sanjeev established a physical relationship with her under false promises of marriage.
Furthermore, accusations have been made against Sanjeev for taking away her gold jewellery, mobile phone, and cash.
Unable to cope with the betrayal, Mallika consumed a poisonous substance in the Gumora market area, leading to her falling severely ill.
Local people quickly came to her rescue and rushed her to Kalain CHC for initial treatment.
However, as her condition worsened, she was transferred to Silchar Medical College, where her health remains critical.
The incident has caused a significant stir in the area. While no formal complaint has been lodged with the police yet, reports indicate that Mallika's family is preparing to file one.
