Digital Desk: A tragic road accident in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, claimed the life of a young Assamese woman from Guwahati. The deceased, identified as 22-year-old Jiya Mirza, was the daughter of advocate Zakir Hussain.


Zakir Hussain, an advocate of the Gauhati High Court, is a resident of House No. 93, Lane No. 5, Surya Nagar, Satgaon, Guwahati.


Jiya, a student of a law college in Mumbai, went to visit Indore for leisure during her summer vacation. On the evening of the incident, Jiya went out for dinner at a restaurant in Indore with a friend.


After finishing their meal, they boarded her friend's car to head towards their destination.


In a shocking turn of events, the vehicle, reportedly moving at a high speed, collided with an electric pole on the side of the national highway.


The collision was so severe that Jiya died on the spot, and her friend sustained serious injuries. Madhya Pradesh Police arrived at the scene, rescuing her friend and recovering Jiya's body. They were later transported to a hospital by the authorities. 


Indore police informed Jiya's father about the tragic incident via phone. Upon receiving the news, Zakir Hussain immediately travelled to Indore.


Her family has announced that the last rites will be performed in Indore.
