Digital Desk: In a chilling incident on Friday, a youth identified as Mohan Lal Chauhan narrowly escaped a targeted murder on the main road at Goroibari in Udalguri.


The attack, which unfolded in a cinematic fashion, is reportedly linked to an ongoing land dispute.


According to reports, the assailants first attempted to run Chauhan down with a vehicle.


When the initial attempt failed, unidentified individuals exited the car and pursued him on foot.


The attackers were forced to flee the scene only after local residents gathered to intervene.


Mohan Lal Chauhan, who was en route to the Udalguri court for a scheduled hearing at the time of the incident, suspects the assailants were armed.


While fleeing, the main accused, who was driving the car, openly threatened to kill him.


He further alleged that the driver, the primary accused, openly issued a death threat before fleeing the scene.


The victim has leveled shocking allegations against his own uncle, accusing him of hiring goons to orchestrate the murder attempt.


Following the traumatic event, Chauhan submitted a formal complaint to the Superintendent of Police.


Fearing further retaliation, he remains confined to his home, afraid to step outside.
