Digital Desk: A sensational late-night assault in Pathsala town, Bajali, has sparked widespread panic after the entire episode was captured on CCTV.


The incident near a maternity hospital in Ward No. 3, where a verbal altercation between Champak Medhi and a group of youths escalated into a brutal physical attack.


According to allegations, four youths severely beat Medhi and forcibly snatched a gold chain from his neck.


The victim was initially rushed to Pathsala Madan Rauta Hospital, however, due to his deteriorating condition, he was referred to Barpeta for advanced medical treatment.


Following an FIR by the victim's family, Pathsala police launched immediate investigation.


Police have arrested the main accused Partha Pratim Deka along with two others, Nikhil Sharma and Dipak Das.


A fourth suspect, Anup Roy, who is reportedly a police personnel, is currently absconding.

This violent episode has reignited concerns over the surge in nighttime criminal activity in Pathsala.


Local residents allege that anti-social activity increases significantly after dark and are calling for stricter policing and enhanced security measures to ensure public safety.
