"Servant of the People," produced by Zelenskyy's Studio Kvartel 95, lasted three seasons and spawned a sequel film.

Digital Desk: Since Russia invaded Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has become a globally recognised figure. Zelenskyy played the Ukrainian President in the comedy series "Servant of the People." In 2015, Zelenskyy played Vasiliy Petrovich Goloborodko; a high school teacher catapulted to the President after a student's video condemning official corruption in Ukraine went viral. Goloborodko sets about ruling the country while avoiding the trappings of power by maintaining an everyday existence. "Servant of the People," produced by Zelenskyy's Studio Kvartel 95, lasted three seasons and spawned a sequel film. In recent weeks, Eccho Rights, which distributes the series, has witnessed a rise in demand for the show. "You asked for it, and it's back!" Netflix announced on Twitter on Wednesday, allowing fans to watch "Servant of the People." According to The Hill, Netflix aired the show until the license expired in February. At the 2016 WorldFest in Houston, "Servant of the People" won the best feature series award at the Teletriumph Awards in Ukraine and the Gold Remi Award for Television Comedy. Producers announced late last month that Zelenskyy also voiced Paddington the bear in Ukrainian for both "Paddington" and its sequel, "Paddington 2." According to Bloomberg, he even competed in and won a Ukrainian version of "Dancing With the Stars." According to the BBC, Zelenskyy campaigned for President of Ukraine under a political party with the same name as his show. He won the presidency in a landside election in 2019, receiving 73 per cent of the vote over incumbent Petro Poroshenko's 24 per cent. On Wednesday, Zelenskyy testified before Congress, pleading for assistance in the face of Russia's continuous aggression against Ukraine. "This is a terror that Europe hasn't experienced in 80 years, and we're asking for a global response to this terror," Zelenskyy added.
