Digital Desk: Congress leader Zubair Anam Mazumdar was elected as the President of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress on Tuesday (April 25, 2023).
Anam won the election with 62,000 votes, followed by Paritosh Roy with 54,113 votes and David Phukan with 18, 696 votes.
Anam previously served as the state general secretary of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress.
Anam, who was raised in Guwahati, was born in Silchar and did his schooling here in the city. Zubair obtained his Bachelor of Architecture from Guwahati College of Architecture after completing his intermediate at RJ College.
Anam climbed quickly through the ranks of the Congress, from the National Students Union of India (NSUI) to General Secretary to Vice President, and currently President of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress.
