    Villian-sided 'Jailer' film actor G Marimuthu passes away at 58 due to a cardiac arrest

    Digital Desk: G Marimuthu, a Tamil actor-director who was most recently seen in Rajinikanth's smash film 'Jailer,' died on Friday (September 8) after a heart attack. Everyone was taken aback by his untimely passing. He was 58 years old when he fell while dubbing for his television show titled 'Ethir Neechal' at around 8.30 a.m. and was brought to a neighbouring hospital, where he was certified dead. 


    He is survived by his wife, Backiyalakshmi, and two children, Akilan and Ishwarya. "Director and actor G Marimuthu passed away this morning due to cardiac arrest in a private hospital," Nadigar Sangam (South Indian Artists Association) announced in a social media post.


    Sun Pictures, actors Prasanna, Radhikaa Sarathkumar, M Sasikumar, and Arun Vijay, among others, expressed their condolences.



    G Marimuthu is well-known for his parts in films such as Tamil Rockerz, Vada Chennai, and others. He had recently taken up acting and had been in several films and teleserial. He started as an assistant director. In 1999, he appeared as a supporting actor in Ajith's film Vaali. Marimuthu appeared in various films as a supporting actor, including Yuddham Sei (2011), Kodi (2016), Bairavaa (2017), Kadaikutty Singam (2018), Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum (2021), and Atrangi Re (2021). 


    Marimuthu made his directorial debut with Kannum Kannum in 2008, starring Prasanna and Udhayathara. He also wrote the film's storyline, screenplay, and dialogue. Marimuthu was also well-known and famous for his TV show Ethirneechal. He rose to prominence as a result of his portrayal of Aadhimuthu Gunasekaran in the show.
