Digital Desk: An official said that at least seven people, including an officer, were missing after a boat carrying a team to inspect erosion near an under-construction bridge capsized in the Brahmaputra in Assam's Dhubri district on Thursday.

"Near the Dhubri-Phulbari bridge, there is a small channel." "The team was crossing the channel on a wooden boat when it collided with something and capsized," Dhubri deputy commissioner MP Anbamuthan said. He went on to say that the boat was carrying about 25 people, many of whom were from the Dhubri circle office.

According to Anbamuthan, some people were able to swim to safety while others were rescued. He also stated that teams from the State Disaster Response Force, the National Disaster Response Force, and the Border Security Force were pressed into search and rescue operations.

Circle officer Sanju Das, according to Anbamuthan, is one of the seven people missing. "Efforts are being made to rescue them, and we hope to find them safe and sound soon," Anbamuthan said.
